The Mark Travel Corporation Concludes Largest-Ever Educational Summit for Travel Agents

Over 650 top-producing agents were joined by about 200 suppliers and destination executives

MILWAUKEE (Nov. 2, 2017) – The Mark Travel Corporation (TMTC) has recorded the largest Summit event in its history of organizing the popular travel industry conference. Over 650 top-producing travel agents attended this year’s multi-day conference, workshop and networking event from Oct. 26 to 29 in Cancún, Mexico.

The Summit was also supported by more than 200 of the industry’s top suppliers, including hotel and resort companies and destination executives from throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas and across the United States. Agents in attendance had access to an extensive schedule of over 30 academic-level workshops, seminars and courses focusing on topics designed to help travel agents become more successful—including customer engagement, business operations and supplier and destination information.

“As one of the last family-owned tour operators in the industry, we consider travel agents as extended members of our family, and our events such as The Summit are a part of our dedication to their success today and in the future. This event brings travel professionals together to discuss the evolving industry, learn best practices and network,” said Jacki Marks, executive vice president at The Mark Travel Corporation. “This event is a perfect example of our commitment to support, empower and educate agents on the critical issues they face as business owners today. We’re proud to continue to invest in the agents who will continue to play a critical role in the industry.”

Keynote speeches from TMTC and other industry executives focused on the state of the travel industry, challenges facing agents as well as what the future holds for agents. Other key themes included the latest advancements in travel agent technology and how technological advances will help agents succeed and remain competitive in the future.

Additionally, evening events for guests helped promote networking and create new relationships, bringing together the best in the travel industry. Wellness is a core focus for TMTC, so morning yoga sessions and afternoon exercise classes were a central focus as well. The wellness event, “mindful movement,” is the largest recorded travel wellness event in the industry. Summit is one of the largest travel industry events of the year.
