Sygic Releases Apple Watch Support for Advanced Travel GPS Navigation

October 9th, 2018 – Sygic, a leading company in the GPS navigation business, has released an update of its Sygic Travel app introducing Apple Watch support. Travelers can now use their smartwatch to easily display the current day’s itinerary, explore interesting places around them or access their list of favorite places.

Sygic Travel, with its mobile app and web planner Sygic Maps, is one of the world’s leading online trip and holiday planners. Its travel content is localized into 20 languages and covers over 24 million points of interest with 800 thousand photos and 5 thousand virtual reality videos. “Our users kept asking us for Apple Watch support, because when travelling, having access to your itinerary without pulling your phone out of your pocket comes in very handy,” says Lukáš Nevosád, VP Travel in Sygic.

Have a look at how Sygic Travel in Apple Watch works.

After downloading the Sygic Travel mobile app from the App Store, with the default settings the app gets installed to Apple Watch automatically, including support for the newest Apple Watch Series 4. The planned trips then synchronize across devices immediately. “People can quickly get to their daily itineraries and their lists of favourite places as well as display useful places around them, such as restaurants or public transport stops. They can also see details of individual places with photos, descriptions or opening hours for example. On a preview map they can also learn more about the place’s location and can get there easily by starting navigation in Apple Maps,“ explains Lukáš Nevosád.

Except for iPhone and Apple Watch, Sygic Travel supports iPad as well. Apple TV support is expected by late 2018.
