South Sea Cruises Launches Manta Ray Day Cruise

South Sea Cruises is delighted to announce it is adding another exciting option to its award-winning day cruises range — the Manta Ray Experience, which promises to be Fiji’s best snorkelling adventure!

The new day cruise sees guests leaping into the crystal-clear, pristine waters of the Yasawa Islands to ride the current alongside the majestic manta rays that frequent a particular channel between May and October each year. Seeing these beauties in their natural environment is widely regarded as one of the most amazing experiences nature has to offer.

Guests will depart Port Denarau on our daily service at 8.45am and journey northwest to Mantaray Island Resort in the Yasawa Islands via high-speed catamaran. Following a briefing at the resort and a welcome tropical punch, guests will board tender boats bound for their guided 75-minute Manta Ray Experience.

There is a high chance the manta rays will be feeding in the nearby channel on certain tides from May to October. If the mantas are not out to play, never fear — the snorkelling sites the Mantaray Island Resort team will take guests to are some of the most spectacular snorkelling sites in Fiji and teem with colourful marine life that lives in and around the area’s vibrant coral reefs.

The day cruise also includes lunch back at Mantaray Island Resort (with water and a complimentary soft drink), then guests will have the rest of the time to enjoy the resort’s facilities and the amazing snorkelling just off the beach before the South Sea Cruises vessel collects them at 3pm for their return trip to Port Denarau.

Swimming and snorkelling with the manta rays in the Yasawas is a must-do experience in Fiji. We guarantee guests will not go home disappointed!
