Seadust Cancun Family Resort is First Property in Cancun to Feature a Lifeguard Drone

Cancun, Mexico (June 25, 2018) – Seadust Cancun Family Resort, an all-inclusive resort that sets the standard for family vacations that bring back the true meaning of being together, has recently incorporated a lifeguard drone to further enhance the property’s safety. The drone will provide emergency floating devices and support safety equipment for lifeguards already present at the resort’s beaches. With this investment, Seadust Cancun Family Resort becomes the first property in the destination to utilize a lifeguard drone.

This U SAFE® drone from NORAS Performance, is a lightweight float that is remote controlled and can easily maneuver through the water to bring aid to struggling swimmers. The drone can navigate at a maximum speed of 15 knots (about 18 mph) and can be controlled from three miles away, ideal for deployment from the shore. The drone, which is set to arrive at Seadust Cancun this August, will support the resort’s lifeguard’s response time for potential swimmers in need of assistance, better ensuring guest safety for all.

“Beyond setting the stage for memorable family beach vacation, guest safety is Seadust Cancun’s greatest priority,” stated Mr. Pedro Pinhal, Director and CEO of Seadust Cancun Family Resort. “Our investment in a lifeguard drone represents our commitment to guest safety and allows us to better provide an ideal and positive family vacation for our visitors. We are also very proud to be the first resort in the Cancun area that will implement this technology.”

Seadust Cancun Family Resort will begin training their lifeguards as soon as the drone arrives on property. As the first resort in Cancun to purchase and establish a lifeguard drone, Seadust Cancun follows in the footsteps of other destinations, which have already been utilized to save lives throughout the world. In fact, the world’s first ocean rescue by lifeguard drone took place in January of this year in Australia and helped save two stranded swimmers off the coast of Lennox Head – according to CBS News.
