Scott Moore, CTC, appointed to The Travel Institute's Board of Directors
FRAMINGHAM, MA February 16, 2026 — The Travel Institute, the global leader in travel industry education and certification, announces the appointment of Scott Moore, CTC, director of Key Accounts & Partnerships at Celestyal, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
“Scott’s extensive background in sales leadership and deep-rooted passion for education make him an invaluable addition to our board,” said Gary Pollard, CTC, chair of The Travel Institute Board of Directors and president and CEO, Ambassador Tours. “As we continue to evolve our curriculum to meet the needs of a modern industry, Scott’s perspective as both practitioner and partner will undoubtedly help ensure our graduates remain the most capable and trusted experts in the travel industry.”
A highly respected leader with more than four decades of experience across the air, cruise, and hospitality sectors, Moore’s career is anchored by 20 years at The Walt Disney Company in senior roles across Disney Destinations, Disney Cruise Line, and the Disney Institute. His executive background also includes leadership positions at Scenic & Emerald Cruises, American Queen Voyages, and Alabama World Travel. With a foundation built at PEOPLExpress, Continental and Eastern air carriers, along with Royal Caribbean International, his career spans retail and corporate travel, Meetings & Events, incentives, and education in both front-line and corporate roles. A CTC, or Certified Travel Counselor, since 1994, Moore is a dedicated advocate for rigorous, career-long professional education through The Travel Institute.
“I am honored to now serve an organization so instrumental in my own career and to the success of so many others,” enthused Moore, known for his approachable style, deep industry insight, and passion for travel advisors. “From earning my CTC in the early 1990s to working toward my CTIE today, I know first-hand how critical education is to a travel professional’s success. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members and other industry leaders to ensure our students continue to thrive,” he continued.
Highly skilled in commercial strategy, business development, brand ambassadorship, fundraising, and partner engagement, Moore is recognized for his collaborative leadership style and consistent success. Moore has also made significant contributions to various community organizations including SITE Southeast, MPI Carolinas Chapter, Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and the Boy Scouts of America, receiving awards for service excellence, fundraising, and volunteer leadership. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business & Commerce from the University of Alabama.
Pollard, a board member himself since 2009 and chair since 2022, noted Moore’s appointment reflects a continuing emphasis on “leading by example” with an accomplished, all-certified board in an industry that doesn’t mandate education.
“I have known Scott for some years now and, as fellow CTCs, we share a passion for industry professionalism. As our board continues to grow and evolve, Scott’s experience and success will undoubtedly further The Travel Institute mission—empowering students through education and building a community of knowledgeable, ethical, and passionate travel professionals dedicated to the highest standards of service, innovation, and excellence in support of both traveler satisfaction and industry success.”
