Recapping VAX’s 2024 Power Up for Peak Campaign

An Opportunity for Travel Advisors to Learn, Engage and Empower their Travel Business

Written By: Jenna Buege, Senior Editor – VAX VacationAccess

As we enter February, VAX VacationAccess’ annual Power Up for Peak (PUFP) campaign is coming to a close. Designed to help travel advisors power up their productivity through four weeks of curated educational content, PUFP aids industry pros in making more bookings, earning more commission and engaging more with their clients. Plus, with the chance to win an epic supplier each week, it’s not a bad way to kick off the new year.

Want to learn more about this fan-favorite campaign? Here’s a quick recap of PUFP 2024.

Week 1: Brand Showcases

Week one of the campaign ran from January 8 – 14 and covered all things Brand Showcases, aka the spot where advisors can become more experienced with the variety of brands available on VAX. From promo pages and advisor incentives to hotel experiences and contact info, it all lives here.

To access VAX’s Brand Showcases, advisors can hover over the “Reservations & Brands” tab on the main navigation menu. From there, they will find six categories to discover and explore: “Vacation Packages,” “Hotels,” “Air,” “Cruise,” “Independent/Guided Tours” and “Travel Protection.” Upon making their selection, advisors will find a comprehensive list of associated brands in addition to useful promos, content and more.

Week 2: Tools and Resources on VAX

Week two ran from January 15 – 21 and focused on the wide variety of tools and resources on VAX. While the week covered lots of ground including topics like education, webinars, The Industry Calendar, The Travel Inspo Tool Kit, the Takeoff Travel Stream and more, one of the main focuses was the site’s newly launched enhanced destination content created in partnership with Arrival Guides. Located under the “Destinations” tab on the main navigation menu, advisors familiar with VAX will notice the site’s destination pages have recently undergone a major transformation to include comprehensive downloadable guides that can easily be shared with clients.

In addition to featuring better, more in-depth content, this partnership is helping VAX to expand its Destination page offerings to include even more of travelers’ favorite regions and cities around the globe. Note: This initiative is still a work in progress and the team plans to roll out more destinations over the next several months.

Week 3: Booking Engine Efficiency

From January 22 – 28, PUFP covered VAX booking engine tips every savvy advisor needs to know including how to add air to a “Hotel Only” reservation, how to duplicate and compare itineraries and how to send clients a payment link.

As a special treat, we’ll share one of our most coveted tips with you now; here’s how to duplicate and compare itineraries, a nifty trick for seeing several potential itineraries side by side. To get started, create your first itinerary and select the “Duplicate” option which can be found under your “Recent Searches” next to the “Save” and “Delete” buttons. Upon clicking “Duplicate” you will be taken back to your original search with the original information pre-selected. From here, you can modify your search to swap out brands, look at alternate dates and more before hitting “Search” again to create a similar itinerary that includes the new component. Once you have multiple recent searches you can compare up to three itineraries at a time.

Week 4: Get to Know The Compass

Finally, from January 29 – February 4, PUFP tackled the VAX team’s favorite editorial resource: The Compass. Chalk full of glorious content, The Compass is the travel pro’s trusted wingman for travel inspiration for your clients, business tips for you, advice from thought leaders and industry peers and more. For the uninitiated, The Compass can be found by navigating to “The Compass” tab on VAX’s main navigation menu and clicking “The Compass on VAX.” From here, you can browse years of amazing articles in a variety of categories including “Advisor Development,” “Travel Inspiration,” “Perspectives,” “Making Waves,” “Around the Industry” and “Destinations.”

Speaking of the navigation menu, keen eyes will notice “The Compass on VAX” isn’t the only option listed under The Compass tab, “The Compass Magazine” lives there too. VAX’s quarterly publication by the same name, advisors can navigate to this page to read the latest edition of the team’s award-winning magazine. If they aren’t already on the mailing list — physical copies of the magazine only go to the top active advisors on VAX — advisors can go here to request a copy, or they can pick one up when they stop by the VAX table at upcoming industry events.
