LOS ANGELES, Jun 6, 2022 – Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Destination Queenstown are thrilled to announce a renewed focus on the North American market through a partnership with Pacific Storytelling.
Through this partnership, the destinations of Auckland and Queenstown will be connected to North American advisors like never before by maintaining a constant in-market presence including additional training, sales missions, participation in Tourism New Zealand initiatives, events and fam trips.
Pacific Storytelling is operated by a team of South Pacific expatriates who have advanced knowledge of the region and all it has to offer. “We are thrilled to work with these two iconic destinations and to raise awareness of the fantastic updates they’ve been making while the borders have been closed due to the pandemic,” says Pacific Storytelling Managing Director, Rēnata West.
Most travel advisors will be familiar with Auckland and Queenstown’s tourism propositions offering stunning scenery along with the best culinary, luxury, outdoors, arts and culture, golf and low-carbon experiences on offer. These are two must-visit destinations on any New Zealand itinerary.
The partnership is perfectly timed with New Zealand’s border’s reopening to international travelers this month. From May 1, vaccinated travelers from visa waiver countries, including the United States and Canada, have been able to visit. From 11:59pm on July 31, New Zealand’s border is reopening to visitors from all countries.
To kick off the partnership there will be a number of opportunities for increased engagement with these two destinations, both virtually and in person. Travel advisors can learn more about Queenstown during a live webinar training this week on June 7. They will learn the essentials of selling the home of adventure and will have the chance to win one of six bottles of wine from the award-winning Central Otago region of New Zealand.
The following month, agents can take part in a webinar with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited with updates on New Zealand’s biggest city. The live webinar training will take place on Tuesday July 12. This will include the latest news from Auckland including two of their properties, Cordis Auckland and Delamore Lodge, being included in the Forbes Travel Guide for 2022.
In July there will be an in-person roadshow showcasing the best of these regions in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Advisors are encouraged to sign up to Pacific Storytelling’s newsletters to stay up-to-date.
New Zealand is a popular and favorite tourist destination for North Americans, prior to Covid (year-end December 2019) over 440,000 North Americans visited New Zealand annually. North America will be connected to eight non-stop Auckland flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Honolulu and Vancouver. It’s then a quick two-hour flight to Queenstown on one of the 50 connections offered weekly.
Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Destination Queenstown are also partnering with Auckland Airport, which will see the three organizations join as one to attract North American travelers.
Pacific Storytelling continues to offer free South Pacific training, as well educational resources on their website.
