Toronto, Ontario – January 14, 2020: Starting Sunday, January 19, Canadians are invited to tune-in to ‘Come Visit My Dominican Republic’ to embark on a cultural journey through this stunning Caribbean nation. This 10-episode program* airing Sundays at 9 am on Citytv, and online at Citytv.com, will introduce viewers to the incredible culture and geography led by those who know the island best – its locals.

Come Visit My Dominican Republic highlights the compelling stories of local Dominicans proudly showcasing their respective corners of the country. In each episode, guides will share insider travel tips and introduce their culture through music, dance, art, architecture, and more.

“We want to inspire wanderlust by introducing Canadians to the beauty of the Dominican Republic. From the comfort of home, visitors can enjoy unique cultural experiences like the famous LA VEGA Carnival, one of the biggest carnivals in the Caribbean, surfing in Cabarete, and traditional Dominican music with Grupo Bonye,” said Abdalah Castillo, Director of the Tourism Promotion Office for the Dominican Republic.

Known for warm and hospitable people, it’s a destination like no other, featuring astounding nature, intriguing history, and rich culture. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and the Caribbean Sea on the south, it’s a lush, tropical island paradise that boasts nearly 1,000 miles of coastline and 250 miles of the world’s top beaches, magnificent resorts and hotels, and a variety of sports, recreation, and world-class entertainment options.
