Media Alert: Crystal to Livestream Christening of Crystal Ravel via Facebook Live

 

WHAT:  Crystal River Cruises will officially christen Crystal Ravel, the fourth new-build vessel to join the award-winning fleet, in a ceremony in Budapest on Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. CEST (12:30 p.m. ET). Crystal will livestream the event via Facebook Live on the Crystal Cruises Facebook page, inviting travelers from around the world to celebrate the occasion alongside guests sailing on Crystal Ravel’s “Danube Serenade” voyage.

 

Crystal Ravel joins Crystal River Cruises, which was voted “Best River Cruise Line” by the readers of Travel + Leisure in the magazine’s 2017 World’s Best Awards. The 106-guest ship sails itineraries between Budapest, Basel, Vienna and Nuremburg along the Danube and Rhine rivers, visiting destinations in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Slovakia.

 

WHO:  The ceremony will feature Crystal President and CEO, Tom Wolber, the ship’s godmother, Hungarian classical music producer and creator of the world’s first classical music talent show “Virtuosos”, Mariann Peller, and will be hosted by Vice President & Managing Director of Crystal River Cruises, Walter Littlejohn.

 

In addition to the customary ship blessing, guests and those watching via Facebook Live will be treated to performances by Tenor Steffan Mullan and some of the talented Young Virtuosos artists including clarinetist Ali Dániel Lugosi, double bassist Tamás Kökény, violinist Amira Abouzahra, violinist Mariam Abuzahra, and Budapest Festival Orchestra harpist Ágnes Polonyi.
