ARLINGTON, Va. – April 16, 2019 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold in March 2019 by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 3% compared to March 2018, totaling $9.3 billion vs. $9.1 billion.* The average U.S. round-trip ticket price was $487, a $10 decrease from March 2018.
The total number of passenger trips settled by ARC for U.S. travel agencies increased 3.3% to 29,159,100 compared to 28,220,151 in March 2018. U.S. domestic trips increased 2.7% while international passenger trips grew 4.3%.
Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD)** sales in March 2019 totaled $7.9 million, a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in 2018. EMD transactions decreased by 8.4% in March 2019 compared to March 2018.
