Inspired by The Beatles, New Immersive New Show Hits the Stage in Riviera Maya, Mexico

MIAMI, FL (July 21, 2022)Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, the leading all-inclusive hotel brand with properties in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Spain, announces the premiere Black Bird, their newest production inspired by the legendary band, The Beatles. Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ first song, Black Bird takes flight July 29th with unpublished and original script based on 38 songs by the Liverpool band.

Inspired by the stories behind the songs composed by Lennon and McCartney, this live musical takes us through different emotional states: from nostalgia and introspection, to joy, euphoria and finally, celebration. More than 20 artists will take the stage to show respect and pay tribute to The Beatles and the audience, who plays an integral part of the show through surprising moments of interaction. The exclusive show will be free during its introduction period. Guests can enjoy the show every Wednesday at Bahia Principe Grand Tulum’s theater.

Black Bird follows the success of “Origen”, the previous show by Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts, which has been sold out since its premiere in late 2020 at the same resort in Riviera Maya. Origen is based on roots, which is at the core of Mexican culture. Made up of three acts, this exclusive production depicts tradition transmitted over generations by more than 60 indigenous peoples. This over-the-top display of magical and colorful scenography is made possible by a cast of professional singers, dancers and acrobats. Inspired by Mexico’s culture and history, this is an experience you don’t want to miss. Guests can enjoy Origen every Wednesday in the Tulum Theatre.

“We are very excited to officially announce the premiere of our latest show, Black Bird. The entire team has dedicated a lot of time and love to this project, which we strongly believe will attract visitors to our Bahia Principe Grand Tulum property,” said Aziz El Idrissi, Entertainment Director Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort. “Bahia Principe’s Grand Tulum’s theatre has a maximum capacity of 950 people and our original show, Origen, has been sold out almost every time. With the addition of Black Bird and the evolvement of Origen, we continue to showcase our efforts on expanding our entertainment offerings, while maintaining integrity to the resorts Origen concept.”

Inspired by its natural surrounding and the areas’ deep cultural roots, Bahia Principe Grand Tulum was a product of extensive renovations and a USD $40 million investment. As Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts flagship property, when the brand first arrived in Mexico over 20 years ago, the Bahia Principe Grand

Tulum has been completely transformed, now placing its Mayan origin front and center as it merges seamlessly into the beautiful natural environment. Based on the nature of its setting and the roots of the Mayan culture, this resort was reimagined under the concept entitled “Origin”. Rooms and common areas have been redesigned following the same conceptual line highlighting the ancestral Mexican and Mayan traditions.

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum is located within the Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort, just 60 minutes from the Cancun International Airport, 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen and 20 minutes from Tulum’s majestic Mayan ruins. In total, there are four all-inclusive resorts within the complex, four luxurious spas, countless swimming pools, fitness centers, a convention center, commercial areas and the PGA Riviera Maya by Bahia Principe 18-hole golf course designed by the famous Robert Trend Jones II. The resort follows the company’s rigorous safety and hygiene measures, which were developed in collaboration with HS Consulting, international consultants specialized in the tourism industry.
