Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 Now Open, Overlooking the Piazza at Sina Villa Medici

Sina Villa Medici welcomes Italy’s most iconic bar, Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 to its property, giving Guests the opportunity to drink and dine with Florence locales in a piazza-facing location.

Florence, Italy (March 2026)Sina Hotels and Harry’s Bar Firenze announce the opening of Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953, a new outpost of the legendary Italian institution and birthplace of the Bellini, set just steps from Sina Villa Medici, housed within a 19th-century palazzo. Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 invites international guests of Sina Villa Medici to mingle with locals, marking a meaningful new chapter in a long-standing partnership between Harry’s and Sina Hotels rooted in shared values of elegance, tradition, and convivial hospitality.

The new opening marks the second Harry’s Bar Firenze concept connected to Sina Villa Medici. Harry’s Bar The Garden, which opened in 2021 in the hotel’s lush private garden, remains a tranquil escape where guests enjoy classic cocktails such as Negronis and signature dishes including steak tartare. In contrast, Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 is fully integrated into the life of the city, offering a vibrant new gathering place in the heart of Florence. Carefully envisioned by founders Antonio and Francesco Bechi to capture the spirit and conviviality of a classic Italian salotto, the venue occupies a historic building in one of Florence’s oldest districts, with a pedestrian square fronting Sina Villa Medici that provides a natural sense of openness, welcome, and connection to the city.

“At the heart of this new venue is conviviality; we have cultivated an environment that encourages relaxed social interaction, whether guests are joining for an aperitif after checking in or lingering over a shared meal and cocktails. It is this warmth, typical of Italian gatherings, that allows the bar to integrate seamlessly into its historic setting, maintaining the sophisticated ambiance that complements the luxury of the Sina Villa Medici,” said Fernando Pane, general manager of Sina Villa Medici.

The menu honors the timeless recipes that made Harry’s Bar legendary. Signature dishes include Prawn Cocktail with Marie Rose sauce, Beef Carpaccio with light mustard dressing, Baked Thin Fettuccine with Parmesan and ham, Aromatic Curry with pilaf rice and mango chutney, Steak Tartare Harry’s Style, and the iconic Club Sandwich. Desserts range from Custard-Filled Crêpes Flambé with Grand Marnier to homemade Buontalenti ice cream. At the bar, guests can enjoy classics such as the Bellini, Martini, and Florence’s famous Negroni.

The interiors reflect the brand’s meticulous attention to detail. All bar furnishings—including chairs, tables, and wood boiserie—are original pieces from previous Harry’s Bar locations, adapted to the Florentine space. Pale pink linen tablecloths, custom-designed seating, and carefully proportioned tables reinforce an atmosphere where comfort and conviviality take precedence. Among the venue’s notable curiosities are the original bar stools once used by Elizabeth Taylor and Margot Hemingway, now marked with discreet plaques, and a remarkably preserved 1953 Harry’s Bar Firenze menu, discovered during renovations.

Behind the scenes, the experience is guided by long-standing members of the Harry’s Bar family. Restaurant Manager Roberto Monsellato, bartender Lapo Fantoni, and Jetmir Thaqi, who seamlessly bridge the dining room and the bar, lead a team dedicated to preserving the house’s distinctive style of service, supported by a culinary brigade deeply rooted in the traditions of Harry’s Bar.

Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 seats approximately 40 guests and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00–3:00 pm and 6:00–11:00 pm; Sunday from 12:00–3:00 pm for lunch à la carte; and closed Mondays. In addition to daily service, Harry’s Bar Firenze 1953 will offer private events, bespoke celebrations, and tailored experiences, including masterclasses such as the Negroni Experience, further strengthening its role as a vibrant social hub connected to both Sina Villa Medici and the wider city.
