Leading global travel organizations join together to positively impact the people and places of travel
Group Travel Odyssey (GTO) is pleased to announce its new membership in Tourism Cares, a 501(c)(3) USA-based non-profit that unites the travel industry and serves as a catalyst for positive social, environmental, and economic impact for the people and places of travel.
Kory Vrieze, Director of Group Travel Odyssey, is thrilled to be joining the Tourism Cares community. “GTO is committed to furthering sustainable travel in both theory and practice. Whether coordinating volunteer efforts at a trade show or simply reducing our carbon footprint as we travel, we believe that even the smallest changes can make a big impact on the world around us.”
Since its inception, Tourism Cares has brought together the most prominent names and companies in the travel industry to create positive change and empower them to advance their sustainability journeys. What started with relief and revitalization volunteer efforts has grown into involvement and investment in social and environmental impact organizations that provide real and sustainable change, and many direct economic benefits, for communities worldwide.
“Tourism Cares has centered its mission in uniting, inspiring and activating people and organizations across the travel industry, representing all segments and companies of every size, for the sole purpose of ensuring that travel is used as a force for good,” said Greg Takehara, CEO of Tourism Cares. “Whether it’s been helping in disaster relief efforts, mobilizing volunteers, or planning for our industry’s future, when Tourism Cares calls, our membership has always responded. We are pleased our community continues to grow with incredibly committed companies.”
