Ginkgo Restaurant & Sky Bar Offers A Summer Oasis in the Heart of the Spanish Capital

Madrid, May 7, 2019 – Located in the Plaza de España on Gran Via of Madrid, VP Plaza España Design 5* is one of the Spanish capital’s most attractive five-star properties characterized by its unique design concept and garden-theme offering an unrivaled oasis in the lively capital. For travelers flocking to this bustling Spanish capital this summer, the hotel’s beautifully designed Ginkgo Restaurant & Sky Bar on the 12th floor is a must-stop for both guests and visitors looking to enjoy a chic atmosphere, exquisite cuisine, live music, and dazzling skyline views of the Royal Palace, the Debod Temple and the surrounding Madrid mountain-ranges.

Upon entering Ginkgo Restaurant & Sky Bar, which is inspired by the extraordinary strength and character of the ancient Ginkgo biloba tree, the colors and design alone are impressive: deep tones and textures of plush green and orange, beige and burgundy meld perfectly to create a unique oasis. The foliage is everywhere: rich green fan shaped leaves are punctuated with palms and tropical greenery, whilst the cocktail bar includes a dramatic green backdrop made of lush vegetation.

Outside, the spectacular terrace features a refreshing glass-bottom pool opened all summer long. The pool is bordered with a panel featuring a distinct lily pad design that leads to a dramatic 25m metallic waterfall sculpture tumbling from the bottom of the swimming pool to the ground floor of the property.

Once visitors take in the impressive atmosphere, the experience continues with a creative menu of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine and refreshing crafted cocktails. The contemporaneous menu includes signature drinks such as the Ginkgo Cocktail with Oxley gin, shiso leaves and lemongrass. Among the must-tries when dining is the Gillardeau oyster N°2 with chipotle chili and ponzu sauce or fried artichokes with ham salt and Iberian pork cream. For the main, the Dover sole tempura with Thai basil and lime emulsion or the Oxtail and foie terrine with vegetable sticks are highly recommended.

Perfectly complimenting the 360-degree views of Madrid’s skyline is the daily live music. From Tuesday to Sunday both guests and travelers alike can enjoy a variety of music from modern Spanish pop and Jazz to disco funk, 80s live, and deep house DJ sessions. On Sundays, patrons can even request their favorite tunes with the live band. Whether for the views, the cocktails, cuisine, music or all four, Ginkgo Restaurant & Sky Bar has become the new must-experience and Instagram-worthy locale in Madrid.

Double rooms at VP Plaza España are priced from €220 on a room-only basis. Breakfast is an additional €29 per person.
