Fred. Olsen wins ‘Best for Entertainment’ in Cruise Critic’s ‘2018 UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards’

13th February 2018 – Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is delighted to win two coveted ‘Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment’ accolades in Cruise Critic’s prestigious ‘2018 UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards’, chosen entirely by cruise guests, in the ‘Mid-Size’ category with its flagship, Balmoral, and in the ‘Small Ship’ category with Boudicca.

Cruise Critic’s ‘2018 UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards’ are based on reviews submitted on the influential website by UK holidaymakers who cruised during 2017. Cruise Critic is the largest independent online cruise community in the world.

Fred. Olsen cruises boast a range of different activities and entertainments each day, from fascinating expert guest speakers, to the chance to brush up on a favourite hobby or perhaps learn a new skill, to enjoying the sparkle of cabaret, comedy and music as the lights go down.

Adam Coulter, Managing Editor, Cruise Critic UK, said: “We are delighted for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines on its recent award wins. The UK Cruisers’ Choice Awards marks an important date in the cruise industry’s calendar, highlighting the cruise ships that UK travellers rank as particularly outstanding.

“Our members play an invaluable role in helping to inform and guide other cruisers and first-time travellers to find and choose the best cruise ships for their ideal holiday, and indeed, we couldn’t have this authoritative awards programme without them.”

Helen Bennett, Entertainments Manager for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “It’s a great honour to win these two awards, as nominated by our guests.

“We pride ourselves on looking at each cruise and selecting what we feel will be the best acts for our guests, focussing on the appropriate variety acts for where the cruise is sailing. We have introduced some exciting new acts to the Company and will continue to do so for the forthcoming cruise seasons.”

Fred. Olsen was also proud to be recognised as ‘Best for Itineraries’ in 2017 by Cruise Critic’s experts – for the third year running – as well as ‘Best for Solo Travellers’.
