Emerald Waterways Named “Best Value for Money” in River Cruise Category By Cruise Critic

Boston, MA and Vancouver, BC, December 5th, 2018 – For a record fourth year running, Emerald Waterways has been named “Best Value for Money” in the river cruise category by industry leader Cruise Critic in their annual 2018 Editors’ Picks Awards. The Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards are chosen by the publication’s international team of editors, based on the lines and ships they feel best represent excellence in each category. Emerald Waterways has received an award from Cruise Critic every year since the line launched in 2014 when they won the “Best New River Ships” designation for their innovative Emerald Star and Emerald Sky Star-Ships.

Emerald’ Waterways’ record setting four-time win in this category is reflective of the generous list of inclusions received by guests, including complimentary shore excursions in every port, free transfers to and from the airport, prepaid gratuities and complimentary beverages (including wine and beer at lunch and dinner) offered at a competitive price point. Value is also illustrated by the river cruise line’s sleek, contemporary ship design and high level of service, which often draw comparisons to upscale boutique hotels. Other innovations Emerald Waterways was lauded for include an indoor pool, which cleverly transforms into a movie theater at night on most ships, and floor-to-ceiling windows in most cabins that drop down halfway with the push of a button to create an interior balcony

This honor comes at a time of growth for the young company—in 2019, Emerald Waterways will launch a new Star-Ship, the Emerald Harmony, on the Mekong river in Asia; debut an exciting new Nile river cruise and land package in Egypt and Jordan; and launch their first foray into ocean cruising with intimate yacht sailings along the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia.

Emerald Waterways’ river cruises offer contemporary, deluxe ships, outstanding service and an incredibly inclusive pricing plan. Cruise fares include all transfers; all port charges; all onboard (and some on-shore) meals; unlimited specialty tea and coffee, wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in the cabins replenished daily; continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés and after-dinner sweet treats served in the top suites; complimentary Wi-Fi onboard the ship; most shore excursions as well as all onboard and excursion gratuities. On touring days, hotel accommodations, internal flights, and transfers are also included.

Part of Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, Emerald Waterways’ eight branded Star-Ships offer river sailings in Europe and on the Mekong, as well as the MS Rossia along the Volga River in Russia; the Adriatic Princess and Adriatic Pearl yachts in Croatia; and the MS Hamees on the Nile.
