Curio Collection by Hilton to Open in 500-Year-Old Milanese Villa

June 11, 2018 MILAN, Itlay and MCLEAN, Va.Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement with GdF Hotel Srl to open Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto, Curio Collection by Hilton. The hotel will open later this year and joins two Curio Collection by Hilton hotels in Italy, including properties already operating in Rome and Tuscany.

The hotel will be situated in a 16th century villa which was once the country retreat of Milanese aristocrats. Many of the renaissance building’s historic features were restored in an extensive renovation in 2002, including priceless frescos which now adorn the hotel’s public areas and some of its 77 guest rooms and suites.

Before opening later this year, the hotel will undergo further refurbishments, including guest room enhancements and the addition of a fitness centre. Once open, guests will enjoy the hotel’s restaurant, bar and business centre, while meeting and events facilities will be available for business guests and weddings.

“This one-of-a-kind property is a terrific addition to our growing portfolio of more than 20 Curio Collection by Hilton hotels open or in the pipeline in Europe,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton. “The building’s history, scenic location close to Milan and a number of attractions such as the world-famous Monza race circuit, will make the hotel a popular addition to the city’s hotel offerings.”

“Our partnership with Hilton has grown from strength to strength since opening Hilton Garden Inn Milan North together three years ago,” said Guido Della Frera, president, GdF Group. “We are excited to welcome Curio Collection to Milan and further improve this terrific property.”

“We are pleased to welcome Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto to Curio Collection by Hilton, as we make our debut in the iconic city of Milan,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton. “The opening of Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto highlights our commitment to expanding our collection in key destinations across the globe, and we look forward to providing a remarkable and memorable experience to travellers in our third destination in Italy.”

Launched in 2014, Curio Collection by Hilton is an upper upscale collection of remarkable hotels handpicked for their unique character. Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto joins more than 20 Curio Collection by Hilton hotels across Europe, including Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza, Curio Collection by Hilton, Reichshof Hamburg, Curio Collection by Hilton and Grand Hotel des Sablettes Plage, Curio Collection by Hilton.
