Civitatis Appoints Juan Rossello to Lead the USA Market, Expanding Its Commitment to the Spanish-Speaking Market

City, Country, 19 August 2024Civitatis, the leading curated marketplace for tours and activities in Spanish, is proud to announce the appointment of Juan Rossello as the new Business Development Manager for the United States. This strategic move underscores Civitatis’ dedication to strengthening its presence in the U.S., a key market where Spanish is the second most spoken language, reflecting the significant demand for Spanish-language travel services.

With over 15 years of experience in the tourism industry, Juan Rossello brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Civitatis. In addition to his new role as Business Development Manager for the USA, Rossello will continue to serve as the Country Manager for Mexico, expanding his responsibilities to include Business Development for the U.S. and Central America. His extensive background and leadership in market development will be instrumental in further establishing the company’s footprint in these key regions and expanding its collaboration with travel agencies across the country.

According to the United Nations, over 42 million people in the United States are proficient in Spanish. The Instituto Cervantes projects that by 2060, the U.S. will become the second-largest Spanish-speaking country in the world, after Mexico, with 28 % of its population being of Hispanic origin. Spanish is also the third most widely used language on the internet and the second most prevalent on social media and other digital platforms. These statistics highlight the importance of Spanish as a global communication language, representing 7.5 % of the world’s population.

“The U.S. is an important market for Civitatis, not only because of its economic influence but also due to its large and growing Spanish-speaking population. We are committed to providing high-quality and curated travel experiences that cater to this community, and Juan’s appointment is a key step in achieving that goal,” said Enrique Espinel, COO of Civitatis.

“I am thrilled to take on this expanded role and help drive Civitatis’ growth in the U.S. and Central American markets,” said Juan Rossello. “The demand for high-quality, Spanish-language travel experiences is increasing, and I look forward to working closely with our partners to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers in these dynamic regions.”

Civitatis partners with over 29,000 travel agencies worldwide, offering a dynamic, user-friendly platform that enhances agency operations. The platform allows efficient booking of carefully selected activities at competitive prices, ensuring a seamless experience for both agents and clients. Key benefits include intuitive navigation, high-quality Spanish-language services, price parity, and flexible payment options with a “Book Now, Pay Later” feature. Civitatis also provides real-time availability for diverse activities, automated invoicing, and 24/7 multilingual support, achieving a 93 % satisfaction rate among Spanish-speaking agencies in 2023.

Civitatis will be participating in the WTE Miami 2024 from October 21-23, an event that brings together global decision-makers from airlines, airports, tourism bureaus, and other industry professionals.
