Boris Bijlstra, Co-Founder of Hubby eSIM, Named One of the Highest Fliers in Travel Under the Age of 30

TTG Media’s 30 Under 30 program, backed by TUI Group, honors young travel professionals making outstanding contributions to the industry.

Amsterdam, July 22nd, 2025 – Boris Bijlstra, co-founder of Hubby eSIM, has been selected as one of TTG’s 30 Under 30 class of 2025, an initiative that recognises young talents in the travel industry and offers them the opportunity to build a community of like-minded individuals, learn from current leaders in the field, and elevate their profile.

This year’s competition was extremely fierce as it received more than 130 nominations and entries across a wide spectrum of industry sectors. The chosen 30 represent all four corners of the travel business and bring a diverse range of experience – from operations and commercial partnerships to marketing and engineering.

A senior panel of judges from TTG, the Tui Group, from the Institute of Travel & Tourism and previous winners of the initiative have chosen this year’s 30 successful candidates. Apart from his professional achievement as co-founder of Hubby eSIM and for redefining how travel businesses connect with their customers, this recognition is based on Boris’ efforts to deliver global connectivity to millions of travellers through partnerships with companies such as Flight

Centre and Dertour, among others; as well as on his thoughtful leadership, his support to Young Entrepreneurs in Travel and to university students in Belgium as a mentor, and on his contribution to humanitarian causes such as the donation of eSIMs to civilians and aid workers in Gaza.

“It is an honour to be part of TTG’s 30 Under 30 class of 2025” – says Boris Bijlstra. “I still have so much to learn, but this recognition will open more doors for me and allow me to make bigger moves, learn faster and help more people in an industry that I love.”

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science and Business Economics from the University of Leuven, Boris completed a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship; volunteered in Medellin (Colombia); and won academic awards at Singapore Management University before entering the professional world. He was recruited by McKinsey & Company, where he worked with some of the world’s largest telecom companies across India, the US and Europe. After one year there, he left to found Hubby eSIM with his best friend Thijs van der Wijk. Together, they took it from an idea to a global business.

The winners of the TTG 30 under 30 programme in 2025 will be able to attend a series of exclusive networking events to connect with senior industry leaders and gain inspiration from some of the most successful figures in travel.

Since 2013, TTG Media and its partners recognizes and celebrates 30 promising young executives as up-and-coming travel industry leaders for its 30 under 30 programme every year. Through the initiative, the chosen candidates have the chance to highlight their talent, receive valuable advice and enjoy networking opportunities with the most senior-level professionals within the travel industry.
