Avianca to Operate More Than 8,300 Flights During Holy Week Travel Season
MIAMI, March 26, 2026 – During the Holy Week travel season, one of the busiest travel periods of the year in Colombia and across key markets in the region, Avianca is preparing to serve thousands of travelers who will be on the move to enjoy time off, family gatherings, or cultural and religious experiences, while continuing to support tourism growth and connectivity between destinations.
Between March 27 and April 6, the airline expects to operate more than 8,300 flights and offer more than 1.4 million seats across its network of more than 150 routes, connecting more than 80 destinations in the Americas and Europe and allowing customers to travel to more than 27 countries across both regions.
“Holy Week is one of the busiest travel seasons of the year, and at Avianca we are preparing to support thousands of travelers who take advantage of these days to reunite with their families or discover new destinations. For this season, we already have our operation ready to meet increased demand and continue connecting our customers through our route network,” said David Alemán, Avianca’s director of sales for Colombia and South America.
During this season, travelers will have multiple options to explore Colombia and the Americas. In the domestic market, destinations such as Santa Marta, Cartagena, Riohacha, Medellín, Popayán, San Andrés and Leticia typically see high demand due to their cultural, natural and religious offerings. Internationally, cities such as Mexico City, Cancún, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Asunción, San Juan, New York, Lima and Santiago, Chile, remain among the top choices for travelers seeking experiences abroad.
