ARC to Co-Host Symposium Specialized Track on Passenger Distribution and Sales

ARLINGTON, Va. – November 14, 2017 – Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) Vice President and Chief Information Officer Dickie Oliver will join industry leaders tomorrow as they discuss the aviation industry’s challenges and opportunities in a data-driven economy. The panel discussion, titled “The Aviation Industry Challenges in the Data Age: Where are we Now?” will take place November 15 at the IATA Aviation Data Symposium in Miami, Fla., from 11:35 a.m.-12:20 p.m. ET.

Oliver will join panel participants Emilio Gonzalez, CEO at Miami International Airport; Nawal Taneja, airline business strategist and author from The Ohio State University; and David Hoppin, senior vice president of Diio at Flightglobal. The group will discuss what the airlines can learn from other sectors of the travel industry as well as other data-driven industries to convert challenges into opportunities.

ARC is also co-hosting a specialized track of the symposium that will focus on passenger distribution and sales. The track will span the two-day symposium and will feature opening remarks from ARC’s President and CEO Mike Premo, focusing on challenges and opportunities within the travel industry. Attendees who join the track will hear from senior-level distribution expert panelists, key service providers and suppliers as well as stakeholders from airlines and travel agencies regarding their views on the extent to which big data can improve the customer experience.

The goal of the symposium is for attendees to learn from industry experts about the most effective data solutions available for capturing massive quantities of highly relevant data and transforming it into useful content to determine important decisions. The event will conclude November 16.
