ARC Names Scott Gillespie as Head of Analytics

Industry Veteran Joins to Play Key Role in Company Transformation

ARLINGTON, Va. – September 4, 2018 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Gillespie as head of ARC analytics. In his role, he will lead ARC’s new product development and data science teams with the goal of growing ARC’s data-related products and services. Gillespie brings to ARC a broad travel industry background in travel procurement, airline sourcing, data analytics and innovation, and has worked closely with the company to harness ARC’s vast data hold for research and product development.

Gillespie’s diverse experience includes sales and analytical training to teams at various travel management companies and major airlines, and as a speaker on the global stage at industry events and conferences including GBTA, The Beat Live, and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives. Gillespie has most recently led the drive for corporations to be more mindful of the wear and tear frequent business travelers endure and ways to mitigate it to support overall business growth.

“I have great respect for ARC’s leadership and their commitment to a data-driven future. I’m eager to help turn the company’s best-in-class data into powerful new products, and I look forward to supporting ARC’s transformation into the premier technical leader and provider of air travel intelligence and settlement services.”

ARC Executive VP and COO Lauri Reishus commented, “As the industry continues to evolve, business decisions based on hard and accurate data will be more essential than ever. Scott’s thought leadership, unique experience and blue-chip reputation are going to be valuable assets to ARC. Besides ramping up our data-related offerings, he’ll play an essential part in our company-wide transformation. I look forward to calling on his expertise as our company positions itself for the future.”

Gillespie began his travel industry career at A.T. Kearney, a management consultancy, where he became the firm’s expert on travel sourcing. In 1999, he founded Travel Analytics, later acquired by TRX and now a part of SAP, before co-founding tClara. ARC and tClara, a company of which he will remain CEO, intend to sustain their commercial partnership, including the provision of Air Clarity® and Trip Friction® benchmarks using ARC’s data. An author of the blog Gillespie’s Guide to Travel and Procurement, he will continue to provide speaking and training services to the corporate travel industry.

Gillespie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
