ARLINGTON, Va. – Oct. 7, 2019 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced the winners of its annual Travel Agency Representative of the Year, Airline Representative of the Year and President’s awards at its TravelConnect customer conference.
ARC presented its Travel Agency Representative of the Year Award to BCD Travel for its strong focus on innovation. ARC’s Managing Director of Customer Success, John Pittman commented, “BCD Travel has displayed a passionate commitment to advancing our industry. They have been a key partner in exploring and testing new platforms in conjunction with ARC, helping us shape the future of our data, payment and retailing solutions for all travel agencies.”
Southwest Airlines won ARC’s Airline Representative of the Year award for its expanded investment in the travel agency community. This summer, Southwest announced that it will leverage ARC’s network of accredited corporate travel agencies to seamlessly support business travelers, enabling them to book in the channel of their choosing. “This announcement has been warmly welcomed by the corporate travel community and opens up new opportunities for business travelers across their entire travel journey,” said ARC’s Vice President of Airline Retailing and Settlement, Chuck Fischer.
ARC also presented its President’s Award to Rita Visser, director of global travel sourcing and global process owner at Oracle. ARC’s President and CEO, Mike Premo remarked, “Rita has always been mindful of how her work can impact her colleagues across the industry. She consistently advocates for her industry colleagues and helps suppliers understand not just the needs of her multibillion-dollar corporation, but also others like hers.”
