ARLINGTON, Va. – April 9, 2019 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced today the creation of the Airline Retailing and Payments Team, comprised of diverse subject matter experts focused on ensuring ARC is providing its customers with the products, services, and technology necessary to advance global airline distribution strategies. The team personifies ARC’s “Distribution: Evolved” vision introduced at the company’s Travel Connect 2018 conference.
The Airline Retailing and Payments Team members include Shelly Younger, senior manager of airline retailing strategy and ARC’s head of NDC, Sarah Boyd, formerly with United Airlines and now ARC’s senior manager of airline retailing solutions, and Jennifer Watkins, director of payments.
“I’m very excited to integrate these capabilities onto one team and leverage the diverse experience each team member brings,” said Chuck Fischer, managing director, airline retailing and payments at ARC. “Shelly has made a name for herself within the industry as a New Distribution Capability (NDC) expert and has been at the forefront of ARC’s NDC initiatives. Sarah brings airline distribution experience to the team and will help boost ARC’s efforts to deliver channel agnostic solutions focused on advancing airlines’ NDC and ONE Order capabilities. And Jennifer, whose acumen around payments is second to none, will continue to ensure ARC’s payments processing capabilities support the payment strategies of ARC’s airline and travel agency customers.
The Airline Retailing and Payments Team is part of ARC’s overall effort to harness its industry expertise and continue to bring solutions to customers that support the full travel lifecycle beyond the company’s traditional payment, settlement and data products. ARC expects to develop new solutions and partner with third-party technology providers, when appropriate, to deliver best-in-class solutions for its customers. This was recently demonstrated by ARC when it partnered with Blockskye and United Airlines to create a private blockchain for settlement of direct ticket sales.
“The Airline Retailing and Payments Team is another way ARC supports the accelerated growth of the air travel community. As our customers develop and execute on their NDC strategies, ARC remains committed to helping them realize their visions. By forming this team, we are demonstrating our continued commitment to helping customers harness ARC’s expertise and providing the opportunity to work with a known and trusted partner.”
