Ambergris Cay Wins Fourth Consecutive Caribbean Honor as Alexandra Resort Earns First World Travel Award

Ambergris Cay Wins Caribbean’s Leading Private Island Resort for Fourth Consecutive Year as Alexandra Resort Earns First World Travel Award as Turks & Caicos’ Leading Family Resort

MIAMI, Oct. 12, 2026 – Ultimate Resort Vacations (URV) is celebrating two major honors across its Turks & Caicos portfolio, with Ambergris Cay named Caribbean’s Leading Private Island Resort 2026 and Alexandra Resort named Turks & Caicos’ Leading Family Resort 2026 in the World Travel Awards.

The recognition marks Ambergris Cay’s fourth consecutive win in the category and Alexandra Resort’s first World Travel Award, highlighting two distinct experiences within the URV portfolio: highly personalized private-island luxury and family-focused, all-inclusive travel.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognize excellence across the global travel, tourism and hospitality industries, spanning destinations, hotels and resorts, airlines, tour operators and other sectors.

Ambergris Cay’s fourth consecutive recognition as Caribbean’s Leading Private Island Resort reflects the consistency of its private-island offering as the resort continues to evolve. Privacy, space and highly personalized service remain central to the guest experience, while new amenities and programming expand the ways travelers can experience the island.

The resort’s accommodations span Beachfront Bungalows, the 12 new Waterside Bungalows, private villas and the Dream Estate, creating different ways to experience one private island. The Waterside Bungalows, which debuted in June 2026, feature one- and two-bedroom waterfront accommodations with private heated plunge pools and direct water access. Together, the collection offers options for couples, families, multigenerational groups and milestone celebrations while preserving the privacy and exclusivity that define Ambergris Cay.

Upcoming additions and enhancements will further expand Ambergris Cay’s family, recreation, dining and wellness offerings. For the 2026 holiday season, the resort will introduce Wylder, its new Kids Club for children and teens, a padel court, an additional pickleball court and two new food trucks, while private dining experiences, including curated island picnics and a sushi experience, will give guests more ways to personalize their stay. Looking ahead, Ambergris Cay is also investing in the next phase of its wellness offering, having broken ground in September 2026 on a new spa and wellness complex planned for 2028. Together, these additions reflect the resort’s continued evolution while maintaining the privacy, personalized service and exclusivity that have contributed to its sustained recognition.

Alexandra Resort’s first World Travel Award, naming it Turks & Caicos’ Leading Family Resort 2026, marks an important milestone in the property’s continued evolution as a family-focused, all-inclusive resort on Grace Bay Beach. The recognition reflects the resort’s combination of spacious accommodations, dining, water sports, programming and activities designed to make travel easier and more enjoyable for families and multigenerational groups.

Recent enhancements have further strengthened the family experience, including an enhanced kids club and programming such as Street Fest and Foam Party events featuring live entertainment, music, games and activities, along with interactive experiences such as sushi-making. The resort also introduced a four-bedroom penthouse in December 2025, providing an additional accommodation option for larger and multigenerational families seeking the convenience of staying together.

Alexandra Resort also offers added value and flexibility for families through its Kids 12 and Under Stay, Eat and Play Free offering and Stay at 1, Play at 2 program. The latter provides guests with complimentary access to the dining and amenities at sister property Blue Haven Resort, expanding the variety available during a stay while maintaining the ease and convenience of an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation.

“These two recognitions celebrate very different experiences within our Turks & Caicos portfolio while reflecting the same commitment to creating memorable and highly personalized stays,” said Miriam Niembro, director of marketing and communications at Ultimate Resort Vacations. “Ambergris Cay’s fourth consecutive win speaks to the consistency of an experience built around privacy, personalization and the freedom of a private island, even as the resort continues to evolve. Alexandra Resort’s first World Travel Award is an equally important milestone and recognizes the thoughtful work its team has done to create an all-inclusive experience where families and multiple generations can spend meaningful time together. Above all, these awards reflect the teams behind both properties and the hospitality they deliver to guests every day.”

The two awards further reflect the breadth of Ultimate Resort Vacations’ Turks & Caicos portfolio, from the privacy and highly personalized experience of Ambergris Cay to the family-focused, all-inclusive offering at Alexandra Resort. As both resorts continue to evolve, the recognitions underscore the strength of their individual positioning and the commitment of their teams to delivering memorable Caribbean experiences.
