CALABASAS, CA – (October 11, 2018) – AmaWaterways today announced that it has been chosen as the Best River Cruise by AFAR magazine for its 2018 Travelers’ Choice Cruise Awards. This marks the second consecutive year that AFAR magazine readers have voted AmaWaterways higher than any other river cruise line.

“AmaWaterways strives to offer unforgettable trips that are memorable and meaningful, as well as fine-tuned to individual guest’s preferences,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways; executive vice president and co-owner. “We’re thrilled to be voted by AFAR’s readers as the top river cruise line, and we’re proud to continue earning recognition for our efforts to provide the best in river cruise travel.”

Produced by AFAR magazine, the Travelers’ Choice Awards reflect the tastes of their affluent, influential and well-traveled audience. AFAR’s editorial team selected finalists from the top contenders after which more than 100,000 votes were cast for the cruises that best captured the audience’s imagination and inspired their travel plans.

The honor adds to an impressive list of awards that AmaWaterways has received this year. In addition to the title of Best River Cruise by AFAR, the premier river cruise line was also ranked as one of the top five river cruise lines in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards. AmaWaterways’ own AmaKristina also received the coveted No.1 ranking in the Berlitz: River Cruising in Europe & the USA Travel Guide, well-regarded as the leading authority for cruises and cruise ships. In addition to the first ranking, AmaWaterways’ ships secured five more placements on the top ten list.

“It’s an honor to receive this top recognition,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Our entire team is excited to build upon our success of this year and continue to deliver an unmatched product. 2019 will be a banner year for AmaWaterways, as we’re set to debut three new ships – the most since the company’s inception.”

A family-owned company, AmaWaterways has earned a reputation for transforming the river cruise industry by introducing innovative ship design, wellness activities, creating authentic and experiential shore excursions and providing award-winning food, wine and service.
