San Francisco, August 1, 2018.  AFAR Media launched today the AFAR Travel Photography Awards in partnership with United Airlines and LensCulture. The competition is open to entries from around the world and in a variety of image types, including landscape, portraiture, adventure, documentary, wildlife, urban, and the journey.  Prizes include United Polaris international business air travel to anywhere United flies, cash prizes, a photography masterclass with renowned photographers Joel Meyerowitz or Steve McCurry, and publication in AFAR’s award-winning travel magazine and on AFAR.com.

“These are destined to become the top awards in travel photography,” said Greg Sullivan, CEO and Cofounder of AFAR.  “AFAR has an award-winning reputation for the quality of our photography, and LensCulture is the leader in competitions and resources for contemporary photography around the globe.”

The awards will be determined by a premier panel of judges, including photo editors from the New York Times, GEO France, the Guardian, and AFAR, as well as award winning photographers.
